Nashville, TN July 31, 2004 — The Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association proudly announces the recipients of their distinguished member awards for 2004. The event, which was held July 10th at the Memphis Marriot in Memphis, Tennessee, celebrates veterinary medicine and the contributions of those affiliated with the TVMA.

Current TVMA President, Shannon McGee, DVM, of Collierville, TN, opened the evening with a welcome and introduction of the 2004 Awards Chair and Awards Committee. The six individuals who received awards are: Jerry Lee Bancroft, DVM, of Cleveland, TN, for Lifetime Achievement — Richard Buchanan, DVM, of Sweetbriar, TN, for Outstanding Practitioner — Ron Wilson, DVM, of Franklin, TN, for Distinguished Service — India Lane, DVM, of Knoxville, TN, for Outstanding Faculty Member — Neal S. Ligon, DVM, of Chattanooga, TN, for Young Veterinarian of the Year — and Knoxville?s Jim Black of Pfizer Animal Health for Outstanding Commercial Representative.
