Strengthened Board signals increasing pace of growth at Bridgehead Pharmalicensing Group

MELTON MOWBRAY, UNITED KINGDOM January 7 2004– The Bridgehead Pharmalicensing Group has announced that with effect from 1st January 2004, Dr David Stone joins the company as Non-Executive Chairman and that Tim Fitzgerald has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Dr Stone is Chairman of the UK drug discovery company, BioFocus plc, which he co-founded in 1996 and took to an AiM listing in 2000. BioFocus now works with pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the USA, Japan and Europe. Dr Stone is also Chairman of Purely Proteins Ltd and Cambridge Biostability Ltd.

Tim Fitzgerald has worked for Bridgehead Pharmalicensing since 2001 when he joined from Aventis, having held a series of senior commercial appointments there in the UK, Germany, Israel and Portugal.

The new Board will focus on:

continuing to build the Group?s international presence,

?   
further strengthening its leading position in technical, pricing and commercial consultancy and licensing,

?   
establishing a presence in publishing and medical communications.

The founder directors, David Alcraft, Dr Fiona Paton and Steve Poile, will remain full time board members responsible for business development, major projects and product development. Edd Dumbill remains director with special responsibility for information technology.
