Kendall Park, NJ: — September 25, 2000: Most TASP (Transcription Application Service Provider) companies entering the explosive Internet transcription industry have focused on providing on-line transcription capabilities exclusively. However, one New Jersey firm has taken a different approach and is able to give the transcriptionist the option of doing her work either on-line, or off-line.

Spantel, LLC, is making a bold move and unveiling its innovative, client-driven application at the American Health Information Management Association?s (AHIMA) conference in Chicago on September 25. TSP, or Technology Service Program, provides operational choices not currently being offered by other TASP companies.”The thing that makes TSP so unique in today’s transcription environment,” says Janak Pandit, Founder and CEO of Spantel, “is that we’ve done the hard work up front that allows for more flexibility and options for both physicians and transcriptionists.”

The medical transcription manager has a number of operational options when managing automated workflow and administrative functions. This streamlines operations and captures otherwise lost revenue. One example is the ability to do transcription from an integrated software application that resides on the MT’s computer, after downloading the files from a secure server.

Disconnecting from the Internet to complete the transcription frees up a phone line and dramatically reduces cost. ?I can see that this will immediately pay for itself,? says Isaac Mavorah, President of speedscripts.com, a New York, NY based medical transcription company. ?By controlling and automating the work flow and billing processes, we are now free to pursue larger accounts and expand our business further.?

Voice files are uploaded from the physician site at the click of a mouse, while transcribed documents are securely delivered at the same time. ?We have constructed an extremely user-friendly and robust technology solution for doctors and transcriptionists,? says Pandit. ?After two years of development and thorough market research into transcription operations, TSP+ is now ready to provide a much wider selection of operational benefits than available with other companies. The response has been tremendous.?

Enrollment is accomplished via the web, and the modules are installed directly to individual sites as needed. A transcription service and its clients can become active in the system within a couple of hours. Transcription services subscribe to the program and physician sites are added at no extra cost.
