Immediate release as of March, 8,2004 — During the course of this evening of March 23, 2004 there will be three speakers who will discuss the importance of the early enlisting of helpful services for the care of persons during the ?Changing Phases of Incurable Illness?.
The presenters will address sensitive issues and concerns, such as:
>Anticipatory Grief, by Jane Clarke, Director of Bereavement Services & Community Education from The Humphrey Funeral Home on Bayview Ave.
>How to Access Government Home Care Services & Private Insurance Policies, by Catherine Prestwick, Toronto Community Care Access Centre on Dundas St. West.
>Palliative Care Medicine Services in Home Care, by Dr. Russell Goldman, Assistant Director, Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, Mt. Sinai Hospital on University Ave.
Having an Incurable Disease is not just a state of someone?s` health, it is a process that is walked through by the heart, body, mind, spirit and soul of the individual and their loved ones. The procession has many winding roads, hills and valleys, adorned with love, laughter and tears. The purpose of the evening?s events is to provide the beginnings of a road map necessary to make the journey with more comfort and ease for all.
