LifeWave Limited and Smith & Nephew Medical Limited entered into a joint development agreement with the valuable assistance of The Britech Fund, a support fund set up between the governments of Britain and Israel, which included significant financial assistance based on key project milestones.
The project, involving a randomised, double blind clinical trial to evaluate the use of Lifewave proprietary technology in the treatment of certain chronic wounds, has progressed well and now qualifies for the second grant payment from Britech.
Depending on the results of the trial, the two companies will develop products for wider commercialisation.
Both LifeWave and Smith & Nephew are delighted with the progress that has been made in both the trial, which has reached the halfway point in patient recruitment, and in their working relationship. Both companies wish to acknowledge the significant part played by Britech in facilitating the partnership and in helping to kick-start the project.
